A red-white-and-blue ribbon is looped through a narrow slot along the bottom of the bar and is printed in gold with an image of a solder and the date "Aug. 18, 1891." Beneath the ribbon hangs a silver medallion with an image of the Bennington Monument and the inscription, "DEDICATION BENNINGTON BATTLE MONUMENT" around the edge and the dates 177 and 1891 flanking the monument.
