Each piece is edged with a solid white satin stitch. The bodice has a high net collar, edged with lace, and elbow-length sleeves also edged with lace. A blue ribbon is sewn around the waist beneath the netting, similar to a cumber bund. The skirt of the dress is floor length with a very slight train and composed of white net layered over white silk, with the same blue appliqué adorning the net overlay. The bodice interior is boned, and there is an elastic waist strap woven with the label, "Sullivan / RUTLAND, VT."
