Description

Stoneware crock with hand-painted blue design of stylized bellflowers within a V of dogs. The body of the piece flares very slightly toward the center, and the lip is turned outward to for a distinct rim. U-shaped handles are applied on either side, and line is incised around the piece as the attachment point of the handles. Above the incised line at the center front is the stamped inscription, "FARRARS POTTERY / FAIRFAX, Vt / 2". The inscription is painted over with blue.
