Description

White cotton cap constructed in two parts: the brim and the crown. The crown is cut close with little fullness. The brim is decorated with chainstitch embroidery (likely machine) in a design of vine leaves. The edges are trimmed with a band of machine-made lace in a diaper pattern. There is a cotton tie attached to each corner of the brim.

Context

Possibly worn by a member of the Rugg family.
