Description

Stoneware crock featuring a painted design of a spotted deer. The large crock flare toward the top, with hand-formed handles and a round, flaring opening. Beneath the rim is the stamped inscription, "J. & F. NORTON/BENNINGTON VT." as well as a partial imprint of a stylized flower. The underglaze painted design shows a stylized, spotted stag between a house and picket fence.
