Description

Silk dress consisting of an attached bodice and skirt. The dress is made from a plaid silk, with brown horizontal stripes and white-and-pink vertical stripes on a cream-colored ground. The bodice is fitted with six diagonal darts angled toward the center front. The bodice opens in the center front and is secured by hooks and eyes beneath a center row of buttons. The sleeves are in two parts: a net undersleeve, and a shorter, pagoda-style oversleeve in self fabric. The center front of the skirt is decorated with a complex design of triangular fabric panels connected at the points with buttons.
