Description

Canister made from a shell casing. The bottom of the canister has the inscription, "105 MM M14B1 RMO-206-2 6-53". There is a plaque that reads, "CANNON SHELL FIRED IN HONOR OF THE STATE OF VERMONT DURING A BICENTENNIAL SALUTE TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ON JULY 4, 1976 AT FORT SILL OKLAHOMA / THE US ARMY FIELD ARTILLERY CENTER". The canister is mounted at the top and bottom with light-colored wood.
