Description

Tall, navy blue felted wool forage cape with shiny black leather brim. There is a black leather strap across the front where the brim attaches to the crown. The strap is secured by two brass buttons on either end, which are molded with a federal eagle. The cap is lined with glazed cotton and there is a leather band around the edge. A paper label in the center of the interior reads, "SIZE No. 3, U. S. Army. L J & I P".
