Blue phonograph cylinder with a cardboard case. The cylinder, or "record", is a hollow cylinder consisting of hard, blue, ridged celluloid around a concrete core. One edge of the cylinder is labeled in white with the words, "AMERICAN PATROL N Y MILITARY BAND / Thomas A Edison PAT'D. 24 3221".
The cylinder is accompanied by a cardboard case with a top lid. The case is labeled on one side with the words, "EDISON BLUE AMBEROL RECORD", in blue on an orange ground. The other side is printed with a photographic portrait of Thomas Edison above the patent and trademark information and the price (60 cents). The lid is labeled, "3331 U. S. ARMY BUGLE CALLS PART 1 / S. W. SMITH, U. S. N., AND BULGLE SQUAD / EDISON BLUE AMBEROL RECORD".Use
