Wide wooden frame with ogee molding and mahogany veneer. The back has a paper label with an image of a large building beside a bridge. Around the image is the inscription, "All kinds of Bedsteads, Tables, Chairs, Sofas, Matresses and Mirrors, Manufactured and for sale Wholesale or Retail, on the best terms, BY A. VN DOORN & SONS, BRATTLEBORO, VT."

Made by A. Van Doorn & Sons of Brattleboro, Vermont From an exhibit label: "Made by Anthony Van Doorn and Sons of Brattleboro. Anthony Van Doorn (1792-1871) was a cabinetmaker who first set up business in Brattleboro in 1815. By 1847 he had turned over the management of his business to his sons. By 1850 the Van Doorns had 18 employees who used water power to make chairs, bureaus, sofas, tables and frames.
