"Made by Anthony Van Doorn and Sons of Brattleboro. Anthony Van Doorn (1792-1871) was a cabinetmaker who first set up business in Brattleboro in 1815. By 1847 he had turned over the management of his business to his sons. By 1850 the Van Doorns had 18 employees who used water power to make chairs, bureaus, sofas, tables and frames.Acquisition
