Description

Brass tool that could be a letter opener or a butter knife. Has insignia on the top of the handle and on the sides. The insignia features a lion on the lift, a unicorn on the right, a crown with another unidentifiable animal on top, a seal in the middle with unreadable lettering and two banners at the bottom, also with unreadable lettering. Smaller versions of the insignia on top adorn the sides of the handle.

Context

Given to the people of Vermont from the people of France as part of the Merci Train after World War II.
