Medal hanging from a green and red ribbon. Two metal, five-point stars on the ribbon. The medal has crossed swords, a cross and an insignia with a woman's head and the words "Republique Francaise." On the back are the dates 1914 and 1916. There is no pin to secure the medal to anything.

Given to the people of Vermont from the people of France as part of the Merci Train after World War II.
