Description

Long, rectangular wooden box with sliding lid and box-jointed corners. The lid bears two pasted-on paper labels: a large, white (now yellowed) label and a small red label. The large label is addressed by hand to "Hon. Chas. Dewey/Montpelier, Vermont" and is printed with the inscription, "BURLINGTON SHIRT CO.,/MANUFACTURERS OF/Shirts, Collars, Cuffs, and Underwear./CUSTOM WORK A SPECIALTY/Burlington . . . Vermont." The smaller label is printed with, "United States & Canada/EXPRESS/Burlington VT."
