Description

Pink, satin-covered, rectangular box with three puffy sections on the lid edged with tiny gold cord. Two sections are painted with flowers and the middle has a cherbourg crest. The inside is also padded and the top edge has white lace trim. A card with the box reads, "With compliments from Rene Dubreail, director du college moderne technique, who would be glad to start a correspondence intercourse between his pupils and yours."

Context

Given to the people of Vermont from the people of France as part of the Merci Train after World War II.
