Description

Tiny paper doll of Charles Sherwood Stratton (stage name "General Tom Thumb"). The doll shows a man with blond hair wearing a white shirt with a red bowtie, tight white pants, high black socks, and black shows. The base is a yellow and red carpet.

Context

Charles Stratton, who performed under the name General Tom Thumb, was a dwarf who became famous as a performer in P. T. Barnum's circus. He married Lavinia Warren in a wedding that inspired several toys and souvenirs.
