Description

Commemorative license plate that reads, "Republic of Vermont", over a green silhouette of a mountain. The mountain is flanked by the dates 1777 and 1791. The back of the license plate is printed with an explanation of the design and instructions for use.

Context

Made to commemorate Vermont's 14 years as a republic before becoming a state. The plate could be attached to the front of cars above their front license plate until July 1, 1991.
