Description

Commemorative ribbon consisting of a double bar, a ribbon, and a medallion. The bars are both rectangular, with one hanging below the other by two eye rings. The top bar says, "NEW YORK", and the bottom bar says, "GVEST". The red grosgrain ribbon is looped through a wire at the back of the top bar, and a round medallion hangs from the bottom of the ribbon. The front of the medallion is molded with a bust of a man with long hand and a wide falling collar and the inscription, "1609 1909 Champlain". The back of the medallion is molded with an image of three men in 17th-century armor standing in a canoe with the inscription, "THE TERCENTENARY OF THE DISCOVERY OF LAKE CHAMPLAIN".
