This desk clock is made of sheet metal that has been bent to form a 1/2" foot in the front and a 2 1/4" leg in the back. It is covered with black textured leatherette and edged with a narrow strip of gold or brass-colored metal. A raised gold-tone metal frame surrounds a 2" diameter dial, which is set on a rectangular gray background with horizontal white stripes. The face of the clock is white and features raised green dots at each number, raised gold-tone even numbers, and raised gold-tone triangles for the odd number places. The clock also has a gold-tone second hand, while the minute hand and hour hand have a green enamel central stripe on a gold-tone background. The words "Artco," "Luminous," and "West Germany" appear on the dial/face.
Below the raised frame, on the black leatherette, is the emblem/seal of Camp Maple Knolls. The emblem is a raised octagonal shape with an embossed 8-point buck/stag, surrounded by a raised green enamel circle with "Camp Maple Knolls" written in gold-tone letters. The casing on the back of the clock is gold-tone and has two knobs and two bail-handle knobs for time settings and alarm settings. It also includes an adjustment for increasing or decreasing the pace of time. A lever for turning the alarm on or off is located on the side of the clockworks.Context
