Round white button with the green inscription, "POIRIER For State Senate"

Context

Made for the one of Paul Poirier's campaigns for Vermont state senate. Poirier, of Barre, Vermont, ran many times for the state legislature, starting with an unsuccessful bid for a House seat in 1986. He ran several times for the state senate in the early 1990s without success, but won election to the House in 1996 and again in 1998. He tried again for the state senate in 2000 and lost. He tried unsuccessfully to return to the House in 2006 but was successful in 2008, winning re-election in 2010, 2012 and 2014 before losing in 2016.
