Brass surveying compass with two upright sites attached to the arms. The compass is large and under glass. The cardinal directions are marked with etched letters, with a fleur-de-lys at north. There are inter-cardinal directions marked with etchings as well. The compass is marked on its face, "Joseph M. Wightman. Boston."
