Square linen towel woven in a blue-and-white checked pattern. All four sides have a wider blue stripe, indicating that these were woven to shape. Two sides are selvedges and the other two sides have narrow rolled hems. The towel is accompanied by a fragment of a larger piece in the same checked pattern. One side is hemmed, and there is evidence of removed gathers.Context
