Description

Shirt with a body of heavy white linen and sleeves of white cotton. The shirt is cut into an A-line. The neck splits at the center front to about 3 inches below the bottom of the armscye. The neckline secures closed with two cotton ties. The proper right side of the neck opening is marked in red thread with the letters "C L". The sleeves are cut very full an end in draw strings near the wearer's elbows.

Context

Given to the people of Vermont from the people of France as part of the Merci Train after World War II.
