Hand-carved wooden soap dish with an extending handle. The crudely carved dish is rectangular with sides that angle outward toward the top. The interior surface is covered in white paint. The outside of one side of the dish is carved with the inscription, "Capt. O Bizell Ve91/Prisner Februry 1777/Opon N:TO". The handle narrows in the center, then flares into a fan shape, and is carved with a geometric floral pattern.
The gift included an 1897 facsimile copy of Jabez Fitch' diary; the original is in the VHS library.
