Description

Dark green baseball hat with the yellow insignia patch on the front for the Vermont Auxiliary State Police. The hat is made of a textured green breathable cotton/polyester and the brim has eight rows of concentric stitching. The patch on the front of the hat is shield-shaped with notched upper corners and a yellow ground. Embroidered on the patch is a stag at the top over the banner reading "VERMONT STATE POLICE" around an image of a large fir tree in front of mountains with a deer at the base of the tree. The hat has an arched opening at the back with a plastic snap band to adjust the size of the hat to the wearer's head.

Context

The State Police Auxiliary is still active but quite small. This hat was the first official design when the State determined the program needed a more official face and role.
