Description

Pair of wooden skis with bear-trap style bindings. The bindings are stamped "DOVRE KABEL" on the hinge. The skis have taped tips and additional blocks added to the backs, with a wooden shoe platform screwed in to help secure leather boots in place. The tape around the tip of each ski is marked "L" or "R" for left or right foot. There are deep grooves carved into the underside of each ski. These skis were used by Austine School alumnus and internationally renowned Class A ski jumper Herbert Holbrook.
