Description

Blue shirt that is part of the regalia worn by a member of the Upper Valley Community Grange. The regalia comprises a farmer costume including a shirt (a), overalls (b), a wooden-handled sickle from Grange 311 (c), and a straw hat (d). The shirt and overalls are made of plainwoven cotton using blue and white threads, giving a small checkered look. The shirt has a standard collar and gold snaps down the front that are stamped "WHITEFIELD S&B." There are four large pockets, two on each side. The number "581" for the Grange number is inscribed in pen inside the lower edge of the front hem.
