Description

Membership ribbon consisting of a bar pin, a blue satin-woven silk ribbon, and a round medallion. The medallion is molded with an image of a Civil War soldier with the words, "SEMI ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT DEPT. OF PA. G.A.R. GETTYSBURG 1888." around the edge. The back of the medallion is molded with a canteen, field cap, and crossed guns within a laurel wreath with the words, "35TH ANNIVERSARY BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG".

Context

Worn by a Pennsylvania member of the GAR to the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in 1888.
