Description

Three brass buttons with the word “Vermont" at the top, a shield with elements of the state seal and underneath the state motto, “Freedom and Unity.” The buttons are attached to a large paper shipping tag that reads, "Button from coat of Lt. Benoni Thompson. Worn at Battle of Lake Champlain. He was a grandfather of William Thompson of No. 20 Circle St. who presents it to the Vermont Antiquarian Society."
