Conrad M. "Bud" Cody (1929-2016) and his family bought a Chevrolet dealership in Monpelier in 1953 that became Cody Chevrolet. The next year Bud opened another Chevy dealership in Barre -- Bud's Chevrolet. Eventually the two consolidated in the Barre-Montpelier Road in Montpelier.
