Long, rectangular board came contained within a box. The lid is printed with a scene of children (two girls and two boys) in Victorian clothing fishing from a grassy hill. The title, 'THE IMPROVED GAME OF / FISH POND." is printed on either side of the group. Inside, the game board fits snugly into the box and is printed with an artistic rendering of the surface of a lake or pond with water lilies. There are 22 slits spaced evenly across the board in 3 rows. There are also several die-cut fish (11 remaining). While the fish are very similar in appearance, they are printed on one side with a small species name (bass, haddock, tarpon, shad, carp, salmon, blackfish, mackerel) and on the other side with a number within a circle. There are round holes where the eyes would be. The inside of the lid is printed with gameplay instructions.Context
