This is an oil painting that is housed in an ornate gilded frame. The painting itself is a portrait of an older man who is depicted with white hair, a white and gray beard and moustache, and is wearing a white shirt along with a black neck tie, black vest, and a suit jacket. Additionally, there is a gold tie pin visible on the man's tie. The man is looking towards the right in the painting.
On the back of the frame, there is a paper label situated at the top center that reads "Agents for ARUNDEL SOCIETY / DOLL & RICHARDS / Fine Arts . . . / 145 Tremont St., BOSTON". There is also pencil writing on the top right of the back of the frame which reads "Jackson".
