Description

A GAR medal consisting of an eagle with pin on the back, an American flag ribbon connecting a star-shaped medal to the eagle at the top. The star has the words Grand Army of the Republic over the top of the picture of two people shaking hands, and the dates “1861 veteran 1866” on the bottom. The medal is pinned to four layered rosettes of black crepe.
