Description

Green wool uniform coat with a 3-inch standing collar. The coat has three rows spherical metal buttons with a brass shank and pewter fronts. Only the center row is functional. The body of the jacket is unlined, and the sleeves are lined with white linen. There are two rows of gold braid on either side of the collar, now mostly loose.

Context

Found in a house in Barre, Vermont. Possibly used during the War of 1812.
