Description

Light blue nurse's cap with a white brim. The cap consists of W-shaped piece of blue fabric, three corners of which secure together with a white plastic button, forming the crown. The side between the two unattached corners has a white strip that folds back on the exterior, creating a brim or cuff. At the center of the brim is a square white patch with an embroidered red cross.

Context

Worn by Cora Parkhurst Schoppe of Burlington, Vermont, in both military hospitals and Mary Fletcher Hospital. The insignia on the right arm indicates nine years of service.
