Inked sketch of a landscape showing a river running through the center with trees to the right, a house to the left, and mountains in the background. There are two people rowing a boat in the lower-right foreground, and low falls in the middle of the composition. The house has a half-story attachment on the river side, and a tall chimney at the center of its peaked roof. There are tall, bushy trees at the right edge, with evergreens at the center. The right bank, house, and mountains to the left are slightly shaded with pencil. The upper left corner is labeled "View of Missisquoi River / 2 1/2 miles below East Berkshire. May 21, 1862." in ink and "Jay Mountain" in pencil. It is signed in the lower right corner, "J.H.H. - D.C.L."Type of Drawing
