Description

Cast metal flag holder for a grave. The holder consists of a long ground spike topped with a 5-pointed star. The star is molded with the initials "VSH" [Vermont Soldiers Home]. Behind the star are 2 holes to hold a flagpole. The entire piece is painted gold.

Context

The Vermont Soldiers Home in Bennington, Vermont, housed disabled veterans of World War I.
