Description

Green striped dress consisting of a bodice and skirt. The bodice buttons up the center front, and the sleeves are cut low on the shoulder and wide, with a curve. The cuffs and hem are trimmed with green fringe. The skirt is of the same green striped fabric, trimmed with the same fringe 3/4 of the way down. The hem is faced with glazed cotton. There is a slight train.

Context

Said to have been worn by Florence Holden at her marriage to George Tilden in Barre, Vermont, June 17, 1896.
