Description

Grey wool suit consisting of a coat and skirt. The long coat secures up the center front with decorative metal and crystal buttons on a faux vest attachment of striped velvet. Beneath the vest front, the coat is split. The cuffs, rounded collar, hem, and center front are edged with decoratively woven silk tap, and eight diagonal lines of trim extend from the center front opening on either side. The bottom of the coat has two splits in the back, edged in the same silk trim. Two frog bottoms are applied above each split, and the center tab between them is pointed. The coat is lined in cream-colored silk satin. The skirt sits at the natural waist and is appliqued with black silk trim in the shape of an overskirt: two vertical lines down the front curving into a horizontal line several inches above the bottom hem. The skirt is gored with gathers in the back.
