Description

Metal bottle opener. The bottle opener is shaped from one piece of metal, with one end shaped into a rounded rectangular that then flares out into a handle, where the two ends of the metal meet. The handle is flattened, and is stamped with the label, "BARR'S BETTER BEVERAGES / HARDWICK, VT." on one side. The other side of the handle has two lines of arrow shapes facing inwards to the center of the handle.

Context

Made by Barr's Better Beverages in Hardwick, Vermont. Founded in 1909 by Ed Barr, and later operated by his son, Aguinaldo "Pop" until it closed in 1974, Barr's Better Beverages (Hardwick Bottling Works) was the first and last private bottler in Vermont.
