Straight bladed sward with scabbard. The grip and guard are both elaborately decorated gold, molded and engraved into flowers and military emblems. The blade is engraved with flowers, and the scabbard is engraved with the names of battles and the inscription, "CAPT. A. M. BEATTIE Comdg Co. F, 3d. Vt. Vols. by the members of his company as a mark of their confidence and esteem. Feb. 1864."Context
