Felt bust of a woman. The face is artistically structured with a distinct seam beneath the eyebrows and needle-felting lines along the sides of the nose to the bottom of the chin. The felt is painted to resemble white skin, with pink lips and brown eyebrows. Eyes are created with brown sequins as irises and lacquered embroidery thread as eyelashes. The figure has red hair made of thread in tiny curls framing the face. The body is covered in a partial garment made of white cotton that is pleated under the chin.
The bust is wearing a headdress consisting of a tightly-fitted cap that connects to the garment. A white cotton hood sits over the cap with a rectangular tail.
The bust is inserted into a Styrofoam base with two metal wires. The base has a paper label that reads, “#3 15th c Italian".Use
