Rectangular alphabet sampler. The sampler is stitched entirely with gross stitches in blue thread and brown thread (now mostly gone), with a blue border and underlines. The sampler consists of a marking alphabet with alternates for A, J, and S, and an ampersand. Following the alphabet is the inscription, "CATY HILL OF WEATHERSFIELD IN THE STATE OF VERMONT 1800". The only legible part of the missing stitches are the letters A-G.Context
