Description

Fabric decorated with geometric beadwork. Black, white, green, and purple beads.

Context

This object is tiny but is one of the few surviving pieces of late 18th century Wabanaki beadwork, and has a Swanton, Vermont provenance. It was found in the wall of a 19th century Swanton house being demolished in the early 1900’s. Ex. Ben Gravel Collection.
