Description

Painted bentwood box with lid. Stitched and pegged. Lid shows evidence of painted double-scroll design, mostly worn away.

Context

This box is an important piece of the period and shows diagnostic Northeastern Native sewn and pegged construction. It had a painted lid with double scroll design at one point, but the design is almost completely obliterated.
