Patch with red bar over the top of a blue circle. In the bar are the words, "Civil Air Patrol", in white lettering. Within the blue circle is a white triangle with a red propeller in the middle and the initials "U S" underneath.

Context

Owned by William Vroman Mason of Waterbury, Vermont. Mason was Vermont Wing Commander of the Civil Air Patrol from November 1942 to November 1947.
