Description

Grey-and-white short-sleeved seersucker uniform dress. The dress has a Peter-Pan style collar, and secures up the center front. The front placket is sewn in place at the waistband, and there is a pocket slit on the right bodice. The pocket has a rectangular lining with a sewn-in tag showing washing instructions. The skirt is flared with a kick pleat at the center front and a wide hem. There are shoulder pads attached to the interior of the bodice with snaps. The back neck facing has a nametag that reads, "Marion I. Turner", and a tag with the inscription, "Made and sold under authority of U.S. Navy W.A.V.E.S." On the collar beside the neck seam are the stenciled initials, "M I T".
