Description

Paper money for 2 shillings and 6 pence. The serial number is 3263. One side has the inscription, "The possessor of this BILL shall be paid by the Treasurer of the State of Vermont Two Shillings and Six Pence, in Silver at Six Shillings and Eight Pence per Ounce, by the first Day of June, A. D. 1782. By order of Assembly, Windsor, February, 1781." The other side is printed with the inscription, "Half a Crown / Death to counterfeit. / WESTMINSTER: Printed by Spooner and Green. 1781."
