Pieced quilt made of twenty-eight 8"x8" blocks and two 16"x16" blocks with black sashing. The blocks are primarily pictorial, showing buildings, scenes, and wildlife associated with towns in Rutland County, Vermont. The two larger squares shows the logo for Green Mountain College and the logo for the Vermont Bicentennial. The blocks used piecings, applique, and embroidery. The quilts has a pieced border of triangles and rectangles forming evergreen trees, and each corner is quilted in a maple leaf pattern. The backing fabric is blue and white floral printed calico.Context
