Pair of ice skates. The skates consist of a wooden sole, a metal blade, and leather straps. The sole is shaped like the bottom of a straight-cut shoe with round toes. The straps are attached to the edges of the sole with screws and a strip of metal, and secure across the foot with metal buckles. The front [toe] straps consist of two wide rectangles on either side with two narrow straps connecting them across the top and securing with metal buckles. The back strap consists of a wide piece of leather that wraps around the back of the heel with a narrow extending strip that crosses in front of the ankle and secures with a metal buckle. The blade spans from the toe to heel and connects to the sole under the ball and heel.
