This is a ladder back chair that was crafted with a reed seat. It features three slats on the back, as well as two rungs on both the front and sides of the chair. The back of the chair only has one rung, which was likely intentional as part of its design. Upon close inspection, it is evident that the wood on the chair shows traces of red and green paint. The backs of the slats are gouged, while the bottom slat appears to be severely cracked. The reed seat of the chair is wider towards the front than it is towards the back, and it seems to have been replaced at some point in the past.Context
